Second Degree at Council 4312
At our July council meeting, July 21, we are hosting a Second Degree for the councils in our area. We've requested to host this Degree because we have so many First Degree members in our council. All First Degree Knights are encouraged to come and advance toward full knighthood. The Degree will take place in the Holy Rosary Family Room, and the Parlor will serve for our antechamber.

Dinner at 6:00
We will be providing BBQ for sandwiches at 6:00. If you are going to eat with us, you will need to get there by 6.
Degree at 6:30
The Degree will begin at 6:30. Candidates need to be there by 6:15.
Council Meeting Follows
The regular council meeting will follow immediately after the Degree. We welcome all our Brother Knights to stay and join us--we'll do our best to keep the meeting short.
Head Count
I would like to get a head count of the candidates from our council. If you are a First Degree Knight, please call me at 322-1044 to let me know whether you will be able to make the Degree.
Volunteers Needed
Second and Third Degree Knights, please call me to volunteer to help with the Degree. As the host council, we need to help prepare the chamber, sign in the candidates, direct traffic, etc.

Well, that went great!
We had a total of sixteen or seventeen candidates go through the Degree. Six of them were from our council. Everybody extend your congratulations to:
Thanks to the Degree Team for putting on a great Degree on short notice. Thanks also to the other councils who brought candidates and observers.
Thanks to all the guys who came out to help and to be observers. Your presence and your help meant a lot.
And special mention goes to our Grand Knight, Greg Krog, for taking the bull by the horns and getting this arranged. Nobody went away hungry, either. There was plenty of Three Little Pigs barbecue to go around.
On top of all that, we definitely had a quorum for our regular council meeting!

I'll second that, this was the first time I attended the new presention since I took the degree myself.
I have forgotten how much emphasis was devoted to unity.
And yes, a big THANKS to Greg, I have a feeling this is just a start of a great new term.
